This is where the Fogra Web Academy steps in to bridge it with up-to-date, compact and accessible learning units. Not only to train, but also to help implement the newest insights, enabling more efficiency.

Since its launch in 2020, Fogra Web Academy has established itself as a reliable training format for companies and individuals in the printing industry. The concept: One hour of expert knowledge every Monday—live online, in English, and always based on Fogra’s ongoing research and standardisation work. Participants can either join the interactive live sessions or access the recordings anytime via the media library.
Fogra Web Academy covers a wide range of topics across the entire production process—from colour perception, measurement and management to substrates, inks, printing technologies, finishing and quality assurance. Special attention is given to standardisation, sustainability and practical troubleshooting. All sessions are structured to combine scientific foundations with immediately applicable know-howmaking them suitable for both newcomers and experienced professionals.
To reflect current industry developments and participants’ feedback, the 2025/26 season introduces four entirely new courses, developed in close alignment with Fogra's research and consultation activities.
• PDF in Prepress: Introduction to methods for optimising, validating, and troubleshooting PDF files for professional print workflows. Topics include format selection, colour consistency, and technical integrity.
• Proofing: Overview of proofing systems and validation procedures, with emphasis on calibration protocols and ISO-compliant evaluation of physical and digital proofs.
• Visual Appearance: Examination of surface effects beyond colour—including gloss, sparkle, and texture—and techniques for accurate representation in decorative and industrial print environments.
• ProcessStandard Flexo (PSF): Presentation of a newly established flexographic standard designed to support consistent colour output, reliable contract proofing, and reproducible production workflows.
These additions underline Fogra’s commitment to transferring applied research into usable knowledge. By addressing current industry needs with scientifically grounded, practice-oriented content, Fogra Web Academy continues to support professionals and businesses in enhancing quality, increasing efficiency and preparing for future challenges.
