SPW: “SNAP, driven by Coveme, has recently launched a dedicated e-commerce platform for direct-to-film (DTF) supplies. Why did Coveme decide that this was the right moment to introduce not only a new sales channel, but also a dedicated brand?”

Meghanne Findlay: “DTF printing has experienced remarkable growth over the last few years. What started as a niche decoration technology has quickly become one of the most dynamic segments of the garment-printing industry. As the market has expanded, we’ve seen an increasing demand not only for high-quality consumables, but also for reliable partners capable of supporting customers with consistent products and technical expertise.

“This is exactly where the idea behind SNAP was born. We wanted to create a brand dedicated specifically to the DTF community – one that’s easy to recognise, easy to access and focused entirely on the needs of decorators and print professionals. At the same time, we wanted customers to immediately understand that SNAP is backed by something much bigger. That’s why we chose the signature ‘Driven by Coveme’

“We want SNAP to become a trusted point of reference for DTF professionals”

SPW: “What does ‘Driven by Coveme’ actually mean?”

MF: “It means that although SNAP has its own identity, every product is rooted in Coveme’s expertise in engineered polyester films and advanced coating technologies.

For nearly 60 years, Coveme has been developing high-performance films for demanding industrial applications. These range from electrical insulation to renewable energy, flexible electronics and heat-transfer technologies. Those same competencies – precision coating, release technologies, process stability and manufacturing quality – are now available to the DTF market through SNAP.

“We believe customers appreciate knowing that behind a straightforward online purchasing experience there is a company with decades of industrial know-how and a strong commitment to quality and innovation.”

SPW: “The DTF market has become increasingly competitive. What gap did you identify?”

MF: “We believe many printers are no longer looking for individual products – they’re looking for dependable systems. In a production environment, every interruption, every compatibility issue and every inconsistency has a cost. Customers want consumables that work together reliably, deliver repeatable results and reduce the time spent on testing and troubleshooting.

“That’s the philosophy behind SNAP. Rather than simply offering individual products, we’ve developed a complete ecosystem where films, inks and powders are selected to work together. This helps customers achieve a stable and efficient production process.”

“We wanted to create a brand dedicated specifically to the DTF community”

SPW: “Coveme has decades of experience in release films. How does that expertise translate into the DTF world?”

MF: “Release films are much more than a carrier. Their dimensional stability, coating quality and release characteristics directly influence print quality, colour consistency, transfer behaviour and overall process reliability.

“For decades, we’ve engineered coated polyester films for industries where precision and repeatability are essential. The same engineering mindset applies to DTF. Every coating, every surface treatment and every production parameter is designed to contribute to a more stable and predictable printing process.

“We believe this industrial background is one of the key elements that differentiates SNAP in a market where performance increasingly depends on the quality of the materials behind the print.”

SPW: “Besides simplifying purchasing, what advantages does the new e-commerce platform offer?”

MF: “Our objective wasn’t simply to create an online catalogue. We wanted to build a platform that reflects the way today’s customers prefer to buy. Users can easily browse the complete SNAP range, compare products, purchase starter kits, access technical information and place orders whenever it suits them. We also see the platform as a place where we’ll continue to share practical information, application guidance and product updates.

“Ultimately, we want customers to spend less time searching for the right materials and more time focusing on their own business.”

SPW: “Launching an e-commerce platform is quite different from Coveme’s traditional industrial business. What were the biggest challenges?”

MF: “It certainly required a different approach. Historically, Coveme has worked closely with industrial customers on highly customised projects that often involve long development cycles. An e-commerce platform requires immediacy. Navigation has to be intuitive, product information must be readily available and the purchasing experience has to be seamless.

“At the same time, we didn’t want to lose what has always distinguished Coveme – technical competence and customer support. Digital tools are extremely important, but people still value the possibility of speaking with experts who understand both the materials and the printing process.”

SPW: “How do you see the DTF market evolving over the coming years?”

MF: “We believe the market will continue to grow, but it will also become increasingly professional. As the technology matures, printers will pay greater attention to consistency, productivity and total process reliability rather than simply comparing the price of individual consumables. They’ll increasingly look for partners capable of supplying integrated solutions supported
by technical expertise.

“We also expect sustainability to become a growing consideration, with more attention being paid to material quality, manufacturing processes and responsible product development.”

SPW: “What does success look like for SNAP?”

MF: “Naturally, we have commercial objectives, but for us success goes beyond sales figures. We want SNAP to become a trusted point of reference for DTF professionals. For it to be a brand that customers associate with dependable products, straightforward purchasing and knowledgeable technical support.

“If customers feel confident choosing SNAP because they know it’s driven by Coveme, then we’ll have achieved exactly what we set out to do.”

SPW: “Finally, how does this initiative fit within Coveme’s broader strategy?”

MF: “Innovation has always meant more than developing new products. It also means finding better ways to deliver value to customers. SNAP and its e-commerce platform are a natural extension of that philosophy. They allow us to make decades
of expertise in film engineering, coating technologies and heat-transfer solutions
more directly accessible to the DTF market.

“Ultimately, our ambition is simple. It is to combine the reliability and technological depth of an established industrial manufacturer with the speed, flexibility and ease of use that today’s printing professionals expect. We believe that’s what ‘Driven by Coveme’ truly means.”
